Glype 0.5.3 Release Candidate 1

New version of Glype released! Gylpe 0.5.3RC1 features many bug fixes and a logging system. Check it out. This is taken from the Glype forums:

This is an improved version of the 0.5.3 beta and if all goes to plan, will become the 0.5.3 Final in a few days time.

Fixes since beta:
- The javascript parser would apply ROT13 and strrev() to the URL regardless of the actual desired combination when using unique URLs. This would generate “Invalid URL” errors or “Unable to load URL” (if in a frame). The parser now checks for these options being on before applying the transformation.
- “Hotlinking” errors previously occured when either the referrer was invalid or the session had not been started. This gives you protection without hindering users for which no user-agent is sent (and legitimately so). The session is marked as started in the /includes/process.php file after submitting the URL. If you use quick links directly to proxified sites and no referrer is sent, it would previously assume hotlinking. The session is now marked as valid on the index.php page, allowing entry either through the form or through ‘quick links’.
- Early releases of the beta had a faulty setup.php that prevented the “Log Destination” being saved. This is updated to save the value properly.
- Unique URLs would match only against the length of the salt. This is now fixed to match the salt exactly.
- The default myspace plugin would have generated error messages if no user agent was sent. It now checks for the existence of a user agent string before attempting to edit it.

Changes since beta:
- Renamed lots of the javascript parsing bits to remove keywords such as “proxify”.
- Updated the setup script to emphasise the importance of target URL logging if unique URLs is enabled. As well as descriptive text highlighting the issue both below the option itself and in the logging section, there is also a popup alert as an extra reminder when the option is enabled.

Notes:
This release differs from the planned Final release only in that it has display_errors turned on and the <!–[glype:version]–> theme replacement says “0.5.3 RC1″. And of course, if any bugs are found then that’ll be updated as well. Please download and give this version a test. All feedback is useful - as I said before, knowing that it works is as useful as being told it doesn’t. If you’re reporting a problem please provide enough details so anyone would be able to reproduce the error. Thanks for your help.
